VAN HALEN PLAY FIRST GIG WITH ROTH SINCE 1985
Legendary rockers VAN HALEN kicked off their reunion tour with original singer DAVID LEE ROTH to an ecstatic reception from more than 18,000 fans in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday (27Sep07).
Roth, who hasn't performed with the band since 1985, and fellow original members Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen took the Bobcats Arena stage alongside Eddie's 16-year-old son Wolfgang, who completes the line-up on bass.
The group played classics including You Really Got Me, Runnin' With The Devil, Ice Cream Man, Eruption and Jump.
A smiling Roth wanted to play as much music as possible, telling the audience, "I'm not going to waste time bulls**ting around tonight."

Dear Contact music,
I am not quite computer literate, this is a new toy for me, and I am
trying to figure out what you want me to do. I am over 21, but don't know how
to activate my account. I am punching every button that makes sense to me. I
really love Van Halen and David Lee Roth. I view them as modern day prophets,
with a Biblical message, "Little children let us not love in tongue or in word,
but in deed and in truth" Can you believe that that any foul mouthed hypocrite
can love? Yep. It seemed amazing that they can get away with so much, so I
started to listen carefully because faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the
word of God. So music is decipherable and I hear deep messages from Rock and
Roll "Gods" (Human Beings in reality), about love, sex, and the good life.
Anyway, if I may be crazy, then at least let me be crazy for a group of
crazies, that have excellent taste, and are extremely talented.

I flew from Sacramento to Charlotte for this Show. And what a Show it was. VH
had the entire Bobcat Arena standing for over 2 hours of Great Music. To All of
the people (Sammy) who kept talking trash about The New Band, KISS OFF. This is
a GREAT Show and I would Fly Across the country to see them again. The Band was
having fun just like they did during the 1979 Tour. Welcome Back Guys...
