USHER'S WINE BAR 'GOES BUST'

R&B star USHER has fallen victim to the recession - his Atlanta, Georgia wine bar has been forced to close. The singer opened The Grape in his hometown in 2006 and talked of plans to expand the brand worldwide.
But the wine bar/bistro failed to re-open after the New Year (01Jan09), and its liquor licence has yet to be renewed.
According to reports the parent company, Grape Enterprise Group, has also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Usher isn't the first celebrity to have tried and failed in the hospitality industry - Britney Spear closed down NYLA in 2002 after it struggled to inspire hungry New Yorkers, and Jennifer Lopez's California eaterie Madre went out of business in 2008.
