USHER'S CHICAGO RUN EXTENDED
R+B star USHER's debut stage performance in hit Broadway musical CHICAGO has been such a success, his contract is to be extended by two weeks. The singer, who kicked off his run as sleazy lawyer BILLY FLYNN last month (AUG06), was originally booked for just six weeks. But the YEAH star's box-office boosting prowess has persuaded Broadway, New York City, theatre bosses to keep him on until 14 October (06). The day after Usher's first performance in the sexy show, $200,000 (GBP111,000) worth of tickets were sold - five times more than the amount the 10-year-old show normally takes. And last week (ends17SEP06), the box office raked in a staggering $728,907 (GBP390,000), packing out New York City's Ambassador Theatre. The musical usually sells approximately $40,000 (GBP22,000) worth of tickets per day.

More importantly, let's hope his spell has reminded him of his passion for the
Arts rather than just his mirror image.
But hey; what's the likelihood of that???
Glad to see Usher is enjoying Chicago. Hopefully he will last longer so that I
can hopefully have a chance to see him.
