USHER HONOURED BY CIVIL RIGHTS GROUP
R+B star USHER's turn in Broadway musical CHICAGO has earned the YEAH! singer the Spirit Award at the upcoming 17th Annual National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) gala.
The singer wowed theatre fans as lawyer BILLY FLYNN in the production last year (06), and now he's to be feted for his contribution to the theatre.
Writer/director GEORGE C WOLFE will also be honoured at the glitzy 19 February (07) gala in Hollywood. He'll pick up the night's Lifetime Achievement Award.
