US AUDIENCES ARE INTO ENSEMBLE ROMCOM
Romantic comedy He's Just Not That Into You has topped the US box office charts after its first weekend on release.
The ensemble love story - starring Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck and Scarlett Johansson - earned $27.5 million (£18.4 million) to knock last week's number one, vengeance thriller Taken, off the top spot.
Based on the bestseller by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, He's Just Not That Into You tells of the interconnected romantic lives of a group of Baltimore twenty- and thirtysomethings.
Coraline, an animated adaptation of Neil Gaiman's children's book, took $16.3 million (£10.9 million) to debut in third while The Pink Panther 2 entered in fourth with $12 million (£8 million).
Bafta winner Slumdog Millionaire remains in the US top ten, falling one place to seventh after 13 weeks on release.
