UNGARO: 'LOHAN'S FASHION LINE WAS A DISASTER'

LINDSAY LOHAN's designs for Emanuel Ungaro were a "disaster", according to the founder of the French fashion brand.
The Mean Girls actress was named a style consultant for the company earlier this year (Sep09) and debuted her first collection during Paris Fashion Week last month (Oct09).
But the star's hard work was panned by critics who dubbed her creations an "embarrassment", leading Lohan's mum Dina to fight back, insisting the media has a vendetta against her family.
Now Ungaro himself has spoken out about the actress' disastrous efforts, complaining he was powerless to prevent the deal going ahead because he sold the fashion house in 2005.
He says, "Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster. I am furious but I can't do anything about it."
And the designer is so angry about the poor collaboration, he believes the brand is now "losing its soul".
He adds, "That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls."
