Country star CARRIE UNDERWOOD escapes the public when she's grocery shopping - by hitting her local supermarket at midnight.
The Before He Cheats singer refuses to let her fame ruin simple pleasures, and so she has come up with ways to avoid fans when she needs to stock up on food items.
She says, "I do my grocery shopping kinda late at night when there's nobody really there. (I) wash the make-up off... and I'm in a ponytail, glasses, my sweatpants."
And when she does get recognised, people can't believe she's Carrie Underwood.
She adds, "People won't tell me, 'Are you Carrie Underwood?' They'll say, 'Wow, you look like Carrie Underwood'."
