UNCLE RICO ESCAPES ASSAULT CHARGES

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE star JON GRIES has escaped an assault charge after allegedly getting fired up in a road rage incident in Los Angeles. The actor, who played UNCLE RICO in the cult film, was reportedly involved in a physical altercation last week (10AUG06). Gries was booked for assault after police identified him as the "primary aggressor" in the incident, according to website TMZ.com. But the Los Angeles City Attorney's office has decided not to file charges against the actor and officials have referred the matter to the City Attorney hearing programme, where Gries and his road rage foe will attempt to resolve the case without criminal implications.
