UB40 WERE TARGET OF DRUG FRAMING PLOT

British police officers planned to frame UB40 on drugs charges at the height of their fame in the 1980s, according to a former undercover police officer. Ronnie Howard claims his former colleagues were attempting to frame the Red Red Wine group in an operation code-named There's A Wrap In My Kitchen - inspired by the band's hit Rat In Mi Kitchen. Howard, who served in the West Midlands, England police force for 23 years, writes in his book Ronnie's Looking For Trouble, "They needed a high-profile bust and I was disgusted because all they were interested in was fitting people up. "I told them I wanted nothing to do with it."
