UB40 SLAM CAMPBELL OVER DEPARTURE
LATEST: The remaining members of UB40 have slammed singer ALI CAMPBELL for the way he announced his departure from the band. Campbell revealed last week (ends25Jan08) he intends to end his 28-year spell with the Rat In The Kitchen hitmakers after "management difficulties". But drummer James Brown says he is disappointed Campbell didn't attempt to resolve the issues with his fellow bandmates and also criticised him for using a solicitor to announce his departure. He says, "You would think that after 30 years of working together as a family unit that you could at least talk through these issues." Campbell will remain with UB40 until the reggae group complete an upcoming February (08) tour of Australia, New Zealand and Uganda.
