U2 TO PLAY BERLIN WALL ANNIVERSARY GIG
Irish rockers U2 will play a free gig in Germany to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The With Or Without You hitmakers are set to play in front of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate on 5 November (09), just four days before the 20th anniversary of the demolition of the Berlin Wall.
The event will be beamed into the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony, which is taking place in the city on the same night.
The wall, erected as a symbol of the Cold War to separate East and West Germany in 1961, was pulled down after 28 years, allowing the two countries to fully reunite in 1990.
