TWISTA PULLED FROM MCDONALD'S CITY TOUR FOR 'DEROGATORY' LYRICS
Chicago rapper TWISTA has been axed from a tour sponsored by fast food giant MCDonalds because his lyrics were deemed too offensive.
The 10-city concerts will feature performances in MCDonalds' parking lots across the U.S. by stars including Ne-Yo, Kenna, Kat DeLuna, the Dey, Single File and Kevin Michael.
But Twista has been dropped from the glittering line-up on a 7 August (07) gig due to his lyrical content, MCDonalds announced on Saturday (28Jul07).
In a statement obtained by AllHipHop.com the firm explains, "MCDonald's USA made the decision following concerns raised about the artist's controversial lyrics.
"Although we respect free speech and artistic expression, we do not condone or perpetuate derogatory language."
The MCDonald's Live Tour concludes in Austin, Texas in September (25Sep07).
