TWINS FOR DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE

Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives fame has given birth to twins.

The 44-year-old, who plays Bree Van De Kamp in the hit show, had the children with husband Tom Mahoney, who she married last summer.

Cross' representative, Heidi Slan, confirmed the news and said everything had gone smoothly.

"Mother and babies are all doing well," she said.

In order to negotiate the pregnancy, producers on the hit show shot some scenes in Cross' own home.

Creator Marc Cherry revealed Cross had contacted the crew to let them know she was ready to act, despite carrying the twins.

"She's kind of bored out of her mind because she’s just laying in bed," he said at the time, "so she’s like, 'Bring the cameras here. I wanna act.'"

A body double was also used along with shots of the actress' head, as the third series of the hit show was filmed.
