TWILIGHT'S PATTINSON IN TALKS FOR ROMANTIC DRAMA MEMOIRS

Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to star in Memoirs, a new romance-drama from the same production company behind his breakthrough film Twilight.

Pattinson played vampire Edward Cullen in last year's box office smash Twilight and is to return for its sequel New Moon, due for release in November.

But apart from reprising his role in the vampiric franchise, Pattinson, 22, is said to be in discussions for Memoirs, a new drama directed by Hollywoodland helmer Allen Coulter.

Based on a script by Will Fetters, Memoirs tell of a pair of new lovers whose relationship is threatened by family tragedies.

Jenny Lumet, an Independent Spirit award nominee for Rachel Getting Married, is to rewrite Fetters' original script.

Neither Summit Entertainment nor Pattinson's representatives have confirmed his involvement.

Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight series, is to be released in summer 2010, it has been announced.

It was announced last month that Summit has given the go ahead for the as-yet-unfilmed sequel to be released on June 30th, 2010, a mere seven months after the second film in the franchise New Moon is released.
