TWILIGHT TAKES BITE OUT OF U.S. BOX OFFICE

Vampire love story TWILIGHT has sunken its teeth into the U.S. box office, claiming the top spot after grossing $70.6 million (GBP47.1million) in its opening weekend (beg22Nov08).
The movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's cult book has become such a sensation, stars Rob Pattinson and co-star Kristen Stewart have already confirmed they're set to film a follow-up.
The movie became an overnight sensation and took $7 million (GBP4.7 million) from midnight screenings in the U.S. on Thursday (20Nov08) alone - bumping Bond film Quantum of Solace to the second spot.
Daniel Craig's second turn as 007 helped the spy series take in $27.4 million (GBP18.3million) in its second week.
Making its debut at the number three spot is new action flick Bolt - starring John Travolta and Miley Cyrus - which took in $27 million (GBP18million).
Rounding out the top five is animated film Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa at number four, followed by Seann William Scott's comedy Role Models, taking in $16 million (GBP10.7million) and $7.2 million (GBP4.8million) respectively.
