British TV host CHRIS TARRANT has been arrested on suspicion of assault, according to reports.
The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? presenter was held in the early hours of Sunday morning (15Mar09) after a woman alleged she was attacked at his home in Esher, south England during a domestic incident.
The 62-year-old was taken to a nearby police station for questioning but was later released without charge, according to British newspaper The Sun.
A police spokesman says, "We can confirm a man in his early 60s was arrested in the early hours following a domestic dispute on suspicion of common assault. He was later released without charge."
Tarrant is currently dating 46-year-old legal assistant Jane Bird, following his split from wife Ingrid in 2006. Their 15-year-marriage ended after the presenter had an affair with a teacher.
