TV AGENT ZIMBALIST, JR. HONOURED BY REAL FBI
Actor EFREM ZIMBALIST, JR. has been made an honorary special agent - after years portraying a member of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation on TV.
The 91 year old spent nine years playing Inspector Lewis Erskine on the hit programme The F.B.I., which debuted in 1965 - and he has finally been recognised for his small screen efforts by real agents.
Zimbalist, Jr. was presented with an honourary FBI badge - the service's highest civilian accolade - by the force's director Robert Mueller on Monday (08Jun09).
And the veteran star admitted he was flattered by the honour, branding the FBI the country's "guardian".
