Actor CHRIS TUCKER insists the reason he was fined $6,500 (GBP3,250) for speeding in 2005 was because of his fame - and also because he asked the traffic cop if he knew who he was. Tucker was hit with the unusually large fine for driving at 109 miles (175 kilometres) per hour in Georgia. He claimed he was on his way to a church 200 miles (322 kilometres) away. And Tucker admits he probably would have received a lower penalty if he hadn't spoken out. He tells Playboy magazine, "In California you get pulled over, and the cops will let you go because they recognise you, they've seen your movies. "But this happened in the South. The guy didn't know who I was. "I'm saying, 'Hey man, haven't you seen Rush Hour?' I actually had a copy of the movie in the trunk. He looked at it and said, 'You don't look like that guy standing there with the Chinese guy.' "I really was late for church, but nobody seems to believe it... The police wanted to make an example of a famous person."
