TROYER PLEDGES HELP FOR SICK DOG

VERNE TROYER was so moved by the plight of a sick dog on British TV on Tuesday (29Sep09), he offered to pay the pup's operation costs to whoever adopts her.
The Austin Powers star appeared on the Paul O'Grady show and took part in an appeal to rehome sick dogs.
He took a liking to little Tallulah, a Jack Russell cross breed, who is looking for a new family to take care of her in Derby, England.
And he generously pledged $150 (£100) to pay for an essential procedure the canine needs.
He said, "At just 11 weeks old, she has had an unsettled life. Two sets of owners have given up on her... she has a growing hernia but this cannot be operated on until she is eight months. It is a simple procedure which will cost just over £100 - and I just want to say, if somebody adopts her I'll pay the £100."
