Troubled actress EVA MENDES escaped rehab and the California rain to present the Best Supporting Actress prize with AARON ECKHART at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (23Feb08). The rain-soaked event marked the Latina's first public appearance since she checked into rehab for an undisclosed issue in January (08). Looking fresh-faced and happy, the actress, who refused to walk the red carpet at the event, made no mention of her personal problems.
