TRICKY LAUNCHES LABEL WITH BLACKWELL
British rapper TRICKY is launching a new record label with his former Island Records boss CHRIS BLACKWELL.
The trip-hop star, who recorded a series of albums for Island Records in the 1990s, has teamed up with Blackwell to form Brown Punk.
The label's first release will be a single, Skating Your Pool, by blues group The Gospel Featuring Kira in September (07).
Other acts signed to Brown Punk include rockers The Dirty.
Tricky - born Adrian Thaws - says, "Brown Punk represents a positive movement where you find intellectuals mixing with the working class, rock mixing with reggae and indie mixing with emo."
