TRAVIS TALK NEW ALBUM

TRAVIS have announced a US release date for their forthcoming album ODE TO J SMITH.

The band's sixth album is due to hit the shops in America on 4th November, reports the NME.

It has been produced by Emery Dobyns, who has worked with the likes of ANTONY & THE JOHNSONS and PATTI SMITH.

Frontman Fran Healy said it is the first record that has been written on electric guitar since the band's debut album GOOD FEELING.

"Usually I write a bunch of songs over a year and then we record them and piece it together. But this album was born out of a rush of creative urgency, a need to make a record," he said in a statement.

"Perhaps that's why Ode To J Smith is the most cohesive thing we've ever done. When you move so quickly, there is very little time to reflect. You have to be decisive.”

The first single, Something Anything, will hit US radio on 6th October.
