TRANSFORMERS SEQUEL IS 2009'S BIGGEST BOX OFFICE EARNER

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN is officially the biggest film of 2009 so far after it reached the $600 million (£400 million) mark on Tuesday (07Jul09).
The Michael Bay movie, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, pulled in a huge amount of cinema goers and took over the year's (09) most successful film Angels & Demons in the two weeks after its release.
The film has garnered $299 million (£199 million) so far in the U.S. and Canada, while it has topped $300 million (£200 million) in revenue from the global box office.
The first movie in the franchise managed to accumulate more than $708 million (£472 million) during its time at the domestic box office in 2007.
Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen already holds the title of highest-earning Wednesday opening of all time, and the second highest grossing day ever behind The Dark Knight.
