TRANFORMERS SEQUEL DESTROYS BOX OFFICE COMPETITION

MEGAN FOX has helped TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN rocket to the top of the U.S box office chart - taking more than $200 million (£133 million) since its release last week.
Despite poor reviews, the sequel scored the second biggest single-day gross in American box office history when it opened on Wednesday (24Jun09), taking in $60 million (£40 million) in just 24 hours - trailing The Dark Knight by just $7 million (£4.6 million).
The movie took in a further $112 million (£74.6 million) over the weekend (26-28Jun09), comfortably beating last week's number one The Proposal into second place. The Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock-starring film managed $18.5 million (£12.3 million), ahead of The Hangover with $17.2 million (£11.5 million) and Up with $13 million (£8.7 million).
Cameron Diaz' new movie My Sister's Keeper rounds out the top five with a disappointing $12,030,000 (£8 million).
