TOMLIN & JOOSTEN IN TALKS FOR HOUSEWIVES SPIN-OFF
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES actresses LILY TOMLIN and KATHRYN JOOSTEN are in talks to star in their own spin-off show.
The pair - who will both turn 70 this year (09) - are negotiating a deal with ABC that would give their Housewives characters, scheming sisters Roberta and Karen MCCluskey, their own TV slot.
According to the New York Post, the show will be modelled after 1980s and 90s sitcom The Golden Girls, about four older women sharing a Miami, Florida home.
And network bosses are anxious to get Housewives creator Marc Cherry on board.
A production source says: "Cherry clearly knows how to write for these two actresses. And we would love to have him involved."
