TOMLIN FIGHTS FOR JENNY THE ELEPHANT

9 TO 5 star LILY TOMLIN is calling for bosses at the Dallas Zoo in Texas to retire JENNY the elephant.
The actress, a longtime animal rights activist, insists it's time for the ageing pachyderm to be relocated after being a city attraction for the past 22 years.
Tomlin visited the Dallas Zoo on Friday (17Oct08) - as a guest of Concerned Citizens for Jenny - and told reporters it's clear that Jenny is depressed and desperate for a change of scenery.
The actress says, "If you know anything about elephants... you would just ache for her. We'd like her to go the sanctuary now."
Concerned Citizens for Jenny bosses are calling for the 32-year-old elephant to be transferred to a sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee, where Jenny can roam with other elephants.
Zoo owners insist they have been considering the CCJ's proposal ever since Jenny's partner Keke died in May (08).
