TOM WAITS 'TOUTING TICKETS'

TOM WAITS is auctioning front row tickets for his forthcoming live shows, with the proceeds going to charity.

The legendary singer-songwriter is set to play 15 dates, tickets for which officially went on sale last month.

However, tickets for some of the best seats of his Glitter And Doom tour were withheld so they could be put forward for a series of online auctions.

Waits fans in the UK may be interested to know there are five pairs of tickets available for gigs in Dublin and Edinburgh.

"Some folks prefer to pay more. You get a great seat, and a good feeling for helping some needy folks," Waits said of the auction.

"It's scalping for charity."

Waits was recently awarded an official key to El Paso while he was performing at the city's Plaza Theatre.

"She was dead when I got there," he joked when a uniformed officer walked onstage.
