TOM POSTON DIES
Veteran actor TOM POSTON has died following a brief illness. He was 85.
Poston, who passed away at his Los Angeles home, is best known for his comedic appearances on US TV programmes The Bob Newhart Show, To Tell The Truth and Mork + Mindy.
Born on 17 October 1921, Poston enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and served in England for four years during World War II.
In a career that spanned more than 50 years, he alternated between appearing on the Broadway stage and acting on TV and in films.
Poston turned up in numerous shows including That '70s Show, E.R., Cosby and Will + Grace. He also voiced characters on The Simpsons and King Of The Hill.
Poston's big screen roles included parts in The City That Never Sleeps, Cold Turkey and The Story Of Us.
He is survived by his third wife Suzanna Pleshette, who Poston married in 2001, and his three children.
