NBC announced Wednesday that Lauer will report live from Havana next Tuesday. A statement by the network said that Lauer's report will focus on the current health of Fidel Castro and the effects of the continuing U.S.-Cuba embargo on both Cuba and the U.S.

Apparently, you are unaware of the fact that under US law, Matt Lauer, a
journalist, does not need a license to travel to Cuba. However, the Cuban
government is very choosy about which journalists they allow into Cuba, being
careful to deny entry to any they deem critical of the regime. You may
remember the recent expulsion of three journalists from the communist state.
