TISDALE LEARNT HARSH LESSONS AS SHOP GIRL
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star ASHLEY TISDALE once worked scraping gum from a shop floor because her parents wanted to teach her to be responsible.
The actress claims her parents encouraged her to work in a store to help her learn the value of money.
She says, "Retail is horrible. I worked at four different stores. My parents wanted me to learn the value of a dollar, even though I've been in showbusiness since I was three. I chose the stores I liked to shop at so I could get the staff discounts.
"One of my managers hated me and would make me do the lamest jobs such as pick gum off the floor that had been there for five years. There'd be no way I could get it up. It taught me a lot of life lessons. I was shy and it taught me how to sell."
