TILTON'S DALLAS GRIEF

Actress CHARLENE TILTON was devastated by the death of former DALLAS co-star BARBARA BEL GEDDES because the actress was not just a friend but an "idol." Bel Geddes, who starred as MISS ELLIE, the Ewing family matriarch, in the cult television series died of lung cancer last August (05). Her death came as a blow to former colleague Tilton who looked up to the veteran actress for support when Dallas' meteoric success propelled her into the limelight. The 47-year-old says, "That was a shock to me. I cried so much, as she was a great personality. I always felt so comfortable around her. She was a woman who was able to show her feelings. I see her as an idol, she is my role model."
