T.I.: 'IMPROVING GHETTO LIFE WILL LEAD TO CLEANER HIP-HOP'

T.I. has hit out at the recent criticism of graphic hip-hop lyrics, arguing rappers are only influenced by what they have seen their whole lives in inner-city America. The 26-year-old believes the best way to clean up rap music is to improve the conditions many urban Americans live in. He tells U.S. magazine Blender, "I just see rappers being attacked, rather than being related to. "I put it like this - hip-hop has always been about what you see outside in your neighbourhood. If you wanna censor this music, you can't censor it when it gets to the radio stations. "You can't put someone in the jungle all their lives and then when they get an opportunity to get out, you're critiquing them for acting like they from the jungle. "Do I think standards could be raise? Of course. But in order for you to expect them to act like they not from the jungle, you should of come and got them 20 years ago."
