THOUSANDS TURN OUT FOR JADE FUNERAL

Thousands of mourners turned out earlier today for the funeral of Jade Goody, who lost her battle with cancer last month.

The mother-of-two's widower Jack Tweed led tributes to the 27-year-old at a service at St John the Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

"My life will never be the same without you by my side," Tweed, 21, said in a poem.

"You made me feel so special and soothed away my fears."

Jade's publicist Max Clifford added: "This is a girl who was ordinary and extraordinary at the same time."

The reality television star, who lived almost her entire adult life in the public eye, died in the early hours of March 22nd, Mother's Day, after losing her struggle with cervical cancer.

Her funeral cortege toured significant sites in her life in east London before heading to Essex for the funeral service and burial.

Setting off from Rotherhithe the cortege passed by where she grew up before heading across Tower Bridge to the East End.

It then headed to Jade's home in Upshire, Essex, where her mother Jackiey Budden – who was at the Big Brother star's bedside when she passed away – joined the cortege in a Bentley.

After the service, Jade's white coffin was carried out of the church to the Beatles' Let It Be ahead of a private burial at an unspecified location.
