THORNTON: 'I DON'T LIKE MOVIES'
BILLY BOB THORNTON has vowed never to direct a movie again - because he hates the film industry.
The actor made his directorial debut in 1996 with Sling Blade and won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
But Thornton will now dedicate himself to his music career, because he has lost interest in the film industry.
He says, "I don't watch movies. I don't care about them. The movie business has tortured us long enough. It's a money-making machine and I don't like it.
"I never want to direct another movie as long as I live. It sucks and it takes a year and a half out of your life."
But Thornton has not ruled out starring in a film. He adds, "My ideal scenario would be to tour for three or four months a year, make two or three records a year and do one movie that pays me a lot of money.
"They won't make movies that mean anything to me, so I don't care what it is. I'll play a clown, anything."
