THOMPSON'S WIDOW GOES BACK TO COLLEGE

The widow of gonzo journalist and famed Rolling Stone magazine writer HUNTER S THOMPSON has been accepted at Columbia University, the school where her husband studied creative writing. ANITA THOMPSON, 33, plans to earn her bachelor's degree in English at the New York City institution where her late husband studied over 50 years ago. She says, "I'm thrilled. I have Hunter to thank for getting me accepted and hooking me up with the kinds of people who wrote me letters of recommendation."
