THOMPSON AND NEWTON HELP RAISE MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER CHARITY

EMMA THOMPSON and THANDIE NEWTON completed a star-studded line up at a charity event in London on Wednesday night (14MAR07). The stars were supporting The Lavender Trust, an initiative affiliated to British charity Breast Cancer Care, which raises money for young sufferers of the disease. Model SOPHIE DAHL performed two songs with jazz musician JAMIE CULLUM as part of The Lavender Trust Speakeasy at Claridges Hotel. Thompson helped auction a dress by British fashion designer MATTHEW WILLIAMSON, saying, "I would model it for you but I can't fit into it. I have tried."
