British actress EMMA THOMPSON is desperate to shed her sedate image by appearing in a film by edgy Spanish director PEDRO ALMODOVAR. The Oscar-winning star wants to take on a more shocking role after appearing in the HARRY POTTER films and romantic comedy LOVE ACTUALLY in recent years, but the controversial VOLVER director has turned her down. She admits, "I've begged, I've offered sex, but he doesn't listen - he's refused me." However, Almodovar says he intends to work with Thompson eventually, revealing, "I hope it will happen.
