THEY THINK IT'S ALL OGRE… IT'S NOT YET
As franchises go, the big green one involving a certain ogre and a talking donkey has been particularly successful. And DreamWorks now apparently believes it can stretch out even more from the gags of the first two SHREK movies in the next instalment, SHREK THE THIRD.
Since TOY STORY burst onto the movie screen in 1995, comedic computer generated slapstick films aimed at children and adults alike have proved commercial goldmines.
And the SHREK series has managed not only to attract huge audiences across the globe and numerous accolades, the satirical fairytale movies have also become famous for their collection of the big-name voices involved in the projects.
In a somewhat SIMPSONS-esque moment, it seems to have become the latest vogue among seasoned actors to make sure they include a dabble in the animated film genre, with cameos in movies like SHREK becoming the holy grail.
And as DreamWorks has finally released the teaser trailer for SHREK THE THIRD this week we can see the likely faces, or voices, have returned and some new tones been added, including CAMERON DIAZ, MIKE MYERS, EDDIE MURPHY, JOHN CLEESE, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and ERIC IDLE among many others.
