THE ZUTONS BLAME FIGHT FOR WINEHOUSE COVER

THE ZUTONS rocker DAVE MCCABE has blamed a fight between himself and AMY WINEHOUSE for the troubled singer's decision to cover his band's hit single VALERIE.
The Liverpool, England-based outfit first released the single in 2006 and a year later, Winehouse teamed up with superproducer Mark Ronson to unleash a new version - which turned into a global hit, outselling the original.
And MCCabe is convinced that a previous fight between himself and Winehouse led to her decision to cover the song.
MCCabe says, "We had a little spat with Amy at a party in London a few years ago and she ended up telling me to f**k off. She didn't know I was in a band and the next time we saw each other we said sorry.
"She told me on Jools Holland's Hootenanny (2006 TV show) that she really liked Valerie and when we played it, I remember her looking at me and smiling.
"Since then she covered the song. And I don't know if she would have done that if we hadn't had that argument."
