THE WHO TO REVIVE TOMMY OPERA
THE WHO stars PETE TOWNSHEND and ROGER DALTREY are planning on reviving the band's legendary rock opera TOMMY to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The group released the ground-breaking album in 1969 which was turned into a 1975 film starring frontman Roger Daltrey, as well as a stage version. And now Townshend has revealed the pair is in talks to bring back the musical, which includes the classic hit Pinball Wizard, to the stage next year (09). He says, "I'm keen to do something to celebrate 40 years of Tommy. Of course, it would probably involve me and Roger in some form."
