THE VIEW'S RATINGS LOOK ROSIE

In its first sweeps period since Rosie O'Donnell joined The View last September, the program recorded average ratings that were 27 percent above those for a year ago among women 18-49, Neilsen Research reported on Thursday. Among overall viewers, they were up 15 percent. Meanwhile, O'Donnell herself attempted to shoot down recent press reports that she intends to leave the program. "Don't anybody worry where Rosie's going," she said on the program Thursday. "She's right here." A day earlier, New York Daily News columnist George Rush quoted a "well-placed source" as saying, "Rosie could be gone within six months. ... She's grown tired of the daily dramas with her co-hosts and the crew. She wants to spend more time with her family."
