THE TING TINGS' SPEEDY SONG

The Ting Tings are worried after they were caught by a speed camera while trying to record a song on a mobile phone.

The Ting Tings got caught speeding while writing a song.

The 'That's Not My Name' duo admit they are concerned about the consequences after their car was caught by a police camera while recording new lyrics into a mobile phone.

Singer Katie White revealed: "We got done on a speed camera the other day and - I don't know whether you can get done for this - Jules was driving quite fast and I had the phone. So I held the phone to him as he was singing an idea and then we got flashed by a speed camera.

"But he wasn't on the phone, he was just singing into it."

Her bandmate Jules de Martino added: "I wasn't driving fast."

In the UK, driving while using a mobile phone is illegal and offenders can be fined a maximum of £1,000 if they refused to pay a £30 fixed penalty.

The group have been playing a number of concerts in Europe and admit they are often surprised by some of the venues they are booked to perform at, in particular a recent show at a disused doctor's surgery.

Katie told Absolute Radio's Ben Jones: "We played a disused doctor's surgery in Berlin, which was quite interesting. It was this little room that had all broken tiles everywhere, and there was just a big hole knocked into the wall and they were serving drinks through the hole, and it was brilliant. The stage was made out of beer crates.

"We've been to some odd places. We played one festival in Norway where we played three songs and then the crowd bounced so much that they kind of pogoed the stage off the floor! They had to stop so we went all the way to Norway and played three songs."
