THE TING TINGS' SECRET MESSY GIG

Rockers THE TING TINGS ensured their recent secret gig in England was a messy affair - by encouraging fans to cover the venue's walls and themselves in paint.
The band provided revellers with free white tracksuits and buckets of colourful paint before ordering them to go wild at the concert in Manchester last week (27Feb09).
Fans were also asked to decorate plain white album covers for the duo's forthcoming single We Walk.
Drummer Jules De Martino explains, "These are the sort of gigs that I think every band really enjoys doing the most. The set-up today is just one big white room and it's smothered in sleeves and the whole basement becomes one piece of artwork in the light.
"When you walk in the room, you're taken aback by it because everything is whited out so we can get every bit of colour on the wall. It's really simple - we just wanna paint on walls and throw paint around and see what comes of it."
