THE STOOGES SET FOR V FESTIVAL

Legendary US punks the Stooges have been added to the line-up for V Festival along with pop star Sinead O'Connor.

Iggy Pop and Ron and Scott Asheton have a busy summer schedule ahead of them with headline slots at Glastonbury and Benicassim festival.

The Stooges released their first studio album for 33 years in The Weirdness, which came out at the beginning of 2007.

Fans can look forward to a host of greatest hits, such as Gimme Danger, No Fun, I Wanna Be Your Dog and Raw Power.

New tracks such as My Idea of Fun, She Took My Money, The Weirdness and Greedy Awful People have also proved to be live favourites.

Sinead O'Connor will soon be releasing her new album Theology, which hits the shops on June 25th.

She will be joined by Rodrigo Y Gabriela, a Mexican two-piece behind tracks like Orion and Tamacun.

Acts already scheduled to play at V include the Killers, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Kasabian, Pink, Kanye West, Jarvis Cocker and Editors.

Also playing are the Kooks, Amy Winehouse, Babyshambles, Primal Scream, Dizzee Rascal, Lily Allen and the Fratellis.
