THE SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS ARE A BIG HIT IN THE U.S.

More than 1,500 different holiday songs have been played on radio stations across the U.S. since Thanksgiving Day (25Nov07), according to the American Society Of Composers, Authors And Publishers (ASCAP). Christmas tunes have been played 2,366,787 times altogether, according to weekly figures. More than 190 radio stations across the U.S. have switched to all-holiday, all the time playlists. Meanwhile, the 2007 season's biggest hit is festive classic Sleigh Ride, which has been played 86,925 times.
