THE SHINS: 'WE READ OUR FAN'S BLOGS'

THE SHINS frontman JAMES MERCER is addicted to visiting web blogs to find out what music fans think of his new songs. The 36-year-old rocker has been scouring the internet for feedback since the band's WINCING THE NIGHT AWAY album leaked online late last year (06), but he wants to nip his addiction in the bud because he gets upset when fans misquote his lyrics. Discussing his habit of checking his fan's blogs, he says, "Recently I've done that more than ever. Because I'm really excited about this record and I'm kind of hoping our fans are, too. But I realised while I was doing it why I shouldn't! I get too invested, like when they get the lyrics wrong."
