THE SATURDAYS: HELP US GET TO NUMBER ONE
Girlband the Saturdays have called on the British public to do their bit for Comic Relief by buying their new single.
Just Can't Get Enough, a cover of the Depeche Mode classic, is likely to top the charts this weekend after its March 2nd release.
But speaking at the launch of the British Music Experience (BME) at London's O2 Arena, the Issues five-piece said they are excited for Red Nose Day (Friday March 13th) but hopeful of achieving their first number one single.
"We're really nervous because the single's out," Frankie Sandford told inthenews.co.uk.
"Please let us get to number one!" she added.
"Everyone who does a Comic Relief single gets to number one and the Sats do not want to be the first band not to!"
She went on: "We're excited for the day though, it's a massive thing for us and so early on in our career, so it's a big deal for us."
Bandmate Una Healy said Depeche Mode, who originally released the song in 1981, had been "really nice" about the girl group's cover.
"They actually said, they didn't have a number one with it, so they hoped we might!" she explained.
The Saturdays' cover of Just Can't Get Enough, for Comic Relief, is out now.
The quintet were speaking after playing an exclusive acoustic set at the Gibson Interactive Studio in the new British Music Experience, now open at the O2 Arena.
