THE LIBERTINES 2010 RETURN
Pete Doherty is confident that his former band The Libertines will reunite to play festivals next summer.
The Libertines will perform at festivals next year.
Former co-frontman Pete Doherty says he has convinced ex-bandmates John Hassall, who played bass for the group, and drummer Gary Powell to take part in a series of outdoor shows in 2010.
He told NME.com: "It's going to happen, The Libertines playing festivals, you know.
"I spoke to John Hassall, he's well up for it. Gary said he would play the shows."
Pete then went on to joke about his former c-o-singer Carl Barat, saying he would go ahead with the shows even if the ex-Dirty Pretty Things star didn't want to take part.
He said: "Maybe I could reform The Libertines without him, like he did without me. I'll put an advert in NME: 'Carlos lookalike required.' "
In 2004, The Libertines performed without Pete after he was fired from the 'Up The Bracket' group over his drug use.
