THE HOFF FACING DRINK DEMONS
David Hasselhoff has been treated for a relapse into alcoholism.
The former Baywatch star was admitted to hospital on Tuesday and released yesterday, his spokeswoman confirmed.
"David had a brief relapse and immediately recognised the importance of addressing it with the assistance of his doctors," Judy Katz commented.
The 55-year-old was ordered to abstain from alcohol in June, as part of a dispute with ex-wife Pamela Bach for the custody of his two teenage daughters, Taylor Ann, 17, and Hayley, 15.
The judge's ruling arose after a video of a shirtless and drunk Hasselhoff, struggling to eat a cheeseburger while lying on a hotel room floor, was leaked onto the internet in May.
Hasselhoff's visitation rights for his two girls was suspended from May 7th until May 21st after the video featured Taylor Ann (not shown) repeating the phrase "tell me you are going to stop [drinking]".
The actor's relapse comes only six weeks after he was awarded undisclosed libel damages from celebrity magazine OK!, after they alleged he had been drunk and abusive at a nightclub.
