THE HANGOVER GETS SEQUEL TWO MONTHS BEFORE RELEASE
Writer/director TODD PHILLIPS has been commissioned to begin work on a sequel to new comedy THE HANGOVER - two months before the original film is due to hit cinemas.
The movie stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis as best friends who head to Las Vegas for their pal's stag party, only to lose the groom-to-be (played by Justin Bartha) after a drunken night out - just hours before he is due to exchange vows.
The Hangover is scheduled for release in June (09) - but Warner Bros. studio bosses are so pleased with the positive feedback from early screenings, they've already given Phillips the green light to make a follow-up.
The filmmaker will reteam with writing partner Scot Armstrong for the movie installment, and actors Cooper, Helms and Galifianakis have all been signed up for the sequel.
Production on The Hangover 2 is expected to begin later this year (09).
